Our Mission

EarthWatch Ohio is a state-wide, 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization working to create a sustainable future for Ohio. We educate citizens about environmental issues and encourages them to implement sustainable practices in their every day lives.

EarthWatch Ohio fulfills its mission by publishing a bimonthly newspaper that is distributed for free at more than 2,000 locations throughout 14 counties of Northeast Ohio and various parts of the state. We print 65,000 copies per issue. EarthWatch Ohio can be found in libraries, retail shops, movie theatres, community centers, restaurants, café's, and other places that distribute free publications.

EarthWatch Ohio provides a venue for organizations, sustainable businesses and concerned citizens to spread their news and solution-based projects to a broader audience. We help connect the community working toward a sustainable future and encourage collaboration throughout our region. EarthWatch Ohio is Ohio's source for current information on environmental and sustainable news, projects, activities, achievements and cutting edge practices.

In addition to publishing our newspaper, EarthWatch Ohio is working to expedite the use of renewable energy in our region and promote energy efficiency. We are working to develop and implement innovative, action-oriented solutions to catalyze a rapid transition to a clean, renewable energy future for our region.
